  2. Amen – something that is hard to do – giving love to those who hurt you. I have done this, but it was a challenge for me.

I like this one, Laura. It is certainly a “radical” reaction to return good for bad…

  5. this isn’t radical behaviour – maybe i didn’t flunk church in that aspect. however, there’s quite a huge hair split here- – it is joyous to respond in love to even thine…cough…cough…that shurch lingo-itis!… cough cough… enemies, however, there is a quality difference between being a doormat and a flower pot thrower, turning the other cheek…red that is. a quick explaination of that hash of cliches is – turn the other cheek or if an enemy strikes you turn the other cheek… doormat – unassertive person who isn’t showing love of themselves even if trying to show love to others and thus is often acquiring disrespect and evil by the bucket loadsflower pot thrower – a dimly remembered spiritual cartoon I’m likely to get wrong lol but essentially it said the flower pot was thrown in love and turning the other cheek.. ar har har har ๐Ÿ˜‰ or, being a wimp isn’t the answer but peaceable and. respectable is. i.e. one doesn’t get to toss the flower pot in anger, that is gasp. wrong! ๐Ÿ˜‰ and quite a haha on the meaning of the turn the other cheek biblical offering to those of the christian traditions. ๐Ÿ˜€ so thus, it well worth being radical, but it really isn’t for me anyways. but attempting assertiveness not doormatting.

    1. I’m not quite sure exactly what you’re saying but my reference to being radical is that of…a revolution of causing a complete or dramatic change in a situation. The world’s idea is an “eye for an eye.” I am referring to being the opposite and radical to the point of being extreme and not do harm to those who hurt you. Be radical and different from the traditional or ordinary of what the world says or does. People hurt us in many ways. I do not believe in being a doormat to those who use me, hurt me or take advantage of me… I try to eliminate it as much as possible. But I do believe Jesus was a radical in every sense. I hope this makes sense. ๐Ÿ™‚

      1. of course it does! amen of course as it’s a good hope too. I was simply after the point of how. it’s very radical indeed to not respond the usual way but quietly and firmly peacefully in love. yet still not get the chin music of disrespect and more cheeks than i have to turn ๐Ÿ˜‰ however pardon me if i delight in a rude image of mooning the passing train and saying but i was only turning the other cheek! ๐Ÿ˜›

I'm always looking for hope, and sometimes I just like to share what I've found.
