…but I know what Love is…

“….I’m not a smart man, but I know what love is…”

and then Forrest turns, walks to the front door with his hand resting on his hip

as he stares out at the night.

Since the world seems to be focusing on love today,

I thought I would describe what real, true love looks like.

Is the patient

Is Kind

It does not envy

It does not boast

It is not proud

It is not rude

It is not self-seeking

It is not easily angered

It keeps no record of wrongs

Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth.

It always protects. Always trusts.

Always hopes. Always perseveres.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8

We are all much like Forrest Gump, looking for love and sometimes find disappointment. Love is a funny thing. We all have our own definition and expectation of what “love is” but do we really honestly know?  May we all dig a little deeper and look beyond the feeling and get to the “heart” ♥ of it all.

Funny…I included this passage in my post for yesterday as well. God’s love is the model of perfect love. It can only be achieved by those seeking to know love at its deepest and undying roots. A beautiful picture too! “LOVE”
