Auld Lang Syne….It’s 2017

If someone asked you, “What is that one thing in life you would like to accomplish?” …what would you say? Whatever popped into your head that very moment is probably the same thing that has been leaving an imprint  in your thoughts for a while. If nothing came to mind, then maybe it’s time you set some goals.

Goal setting can be an amazing process for turning your dreams into reality.

Many times we can feel like we are just floating around accidental-like,  much like that famous ‘Forest Gump feather’. We work hard, pay the bills, take care of responsibilities and as long as that steady paycheck keeps coming in, we’re good. But, in the meantime, we feel as though we are getting nowhere. Life is just floating by like that feather with no purpose.

With the new year upon us, maybe it’s time to give that feather a destination and purpose in life.

Have you thought about what you want to do in five years from now? Or is there something you would like to achieve at the end of the week or even tomorrow?

It’s a new year. Why not set some goals and go for it?

Goals motivate and when we’re not motivated, we become that floating feather with no purpose or destination. So, I hope that you have a dream you can make a reality. I hope you are working toward something that brings new adventures and a new perspective.

With that being said,  I want to take this time to wish all of you a happy, safe and wonderful new year ahead. You have brought a new view to my window and I thank you for your support and encouragement this past year. I look forward to the view ahead!

I leave you with this wish… Click here to listen.

Happy New Year, my Friends…

  1. i agree! goals are important. without goals and a plan we truky do slide through life and allow every little thing to distract us. setting goals is one thing. but we need to commit to those goals over the long term!

    1. I totally agree. It’s so much easier said than done. 😃

  2. My goal: To go to heaven and take as many people with me as possible. It’s a bumpy road at times, but I think I’m at least headed in the right direction. 🙂

    1. My goal, as well. I can’t imagine not striving for that beautiful home. If there was no heaven, life on earth would just be all in vain. 😃

Yes, we all do better if we are working to accomplish something. Goals are important no matter how big or small they may be. Just make them reasonable, that’s key. Good post and may you have a very good 2017, Laura!

  5. I appreciate your perspective on this, Elaine. I usually just float and relax when I’ve been way to busy or when life just seems too hectic. I purposely pull back and make myself just stop for a while and enjoy doing nothing. Thanks for your comment. I truly appreciate it! ❤️

  6. Sometimes it’s nice to float and just be 😉

    1. Thanks Cindy! I look forward to buying and reading your book to little ones. I hope I can finally start the first step in writing that book… I just need to figure out what that first step is. LOL

      1. You’re welcome Laura! I am excited to get my book out there! What is the first step? Write something and get brave enough to share it with someone who can give you some feedback. Then rewrite and do the same process over again many many times!
