Thankful Thursday: Flaws and All

Growing up as a young girl, I realized I was different from others. My life, my home, my thoughts, my physical being…all different. Sometimes, my peers made me aware of this. Yes, people can be mean. But what they didn’t know was that I already knew this and was proud of it. And, another thing they didn’t know…they weren’t perfect, either.Β

Now that I’m older…I am a woman who is still different from others. My life, my home, my thoughts, my physical being…all different. Yes, people can still be mean.

Over time, I have realized I am perfectly imperfect.

Without all the flaws, I wouldn’t be real. For that, I am Thankful!

You tell ’em, young lady! We are all perfect only in the eyes of God as His children. Otherwise, we are imperfect…everyone of us. We need to accept it about ourselves, and respect it about others, for loving other people is a command of God…

  4. Very good post Laura. I have always felt different also – my entire life. I have experienced much cruelty from children and adults alike. My Mom always told me – Peggy, you know who you are, do not let the unkindness of others get you down. She would tell me to lift my chin, square my shoulders and face the world head on, because I was loved, and I was important. I believed what she said. Maybe all those who say we are different are the ones who are different

  5. we are all imperfect beings, stitched together by the nature of our intentions. I like to believe if our intentions are in order…we are quite perfect!

    1. Great comments. I love this thought…’stitched together’. None of us are perfect but with the bond of humanism, we become one. Perfectly imperfect. Thanks so much for your insight. πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks Sandra. Really appreciate your comments. Happy Birthday tomorrow. I will be 54 in March and although I see myself aging everyday, I’ve never felt more alive and aware of who I am. Giving God the glory.:)

      1. Amen! I turn 58 tomorrow and I agree with you. More aware of who I am in Him is the best place to be. I have been going through so much this year but all for Him.

Laura, I was attempting to respond to this two weeks ago. Scrolling to respond to other bloggers and saw this stuck in the response section so I am posting anyway with this notation. Thanks for your open heart in our journey.
