Sweet Triumph

Created in the image of God, his eyes focused on the fading shadows.  Just moments before, he was surrounded by a love he would never outgrow.  I continued to push the swing in motion. As my husband and son walked away, I realized how beautiful my life was. What a defining moment. Here was a child who unfolded the meaning of my family’s generation. There have been  many times when I felt I have failed, but looking through the eyes, heart and mind of my grandchild, I hadn’t. This is my greatest triumph.

Three generations of my family, you see.
Three generations of my family, you see.

  1. A triumph, indeed! Sweet photo.

Why have I not been following your blog? Hmmm…I’ll have to take care of that right now. 🙂

      1. Aawww…thanks for the compliments. Yeah, I used to be a sarcastic little cut-up when I was a teen. Now that I’m “all grown up,” I’m better at controlling the wacky sense of humor I inherited from my father. I really have to fight it sometimes! Lol 🙂

I get the feeling from your blog that we could be “kindred spirits,” as Anne of Green Gables would say. It’s so interesting to meet new people, online or in person.

        1. Kindred spirits!! Love Anne of Green Gables. My daughter and I used to watch it so one year, I bought the entire series for her as a gift. Oh to be able to think like Anne in our world today would be a true gift!😃

          1. We have all the DVDs, too. I also have a hard-cover book that my mother’s best friend gave to me when I was a child. You can see a photo of my old, cherished book in this post.

    1. So true! The older I become the more I see life in everything around me. So much more meaning in even the everyday mundane tasks. Yep! I’m getting old! LOL
